A Night In New Orleans!...
was held Saturday 16th July, to celebrate the release of our 5 Star Winning (Winestate Magazine) 2009 Reserve Shiraz!
After arrival drinks in the stunning Cellar Door, guests continued through to the Duckstein Brewery Restaurant which was themed with the Streets of New Orleans. The band, Adam Hall & the Velvet Playboys, played their way through the streets to the main stage and were soon joined by excited guests on the dance floor to tunes of Louis Armstrong, Fats Domino and more.
A warm welcome speech by Maree Saraceni commenced the evening with a 3 course dinner accompanied by the Saracen Estates 2007 Chardonnay and the new release 2009 Reserve Shiraz. Renown Winemaker Bob Cartwright talked us through the wines and food matching.
The menu presented a taste sensation of mild southern spices... Braised Chicken & Pilaff of Rice, Prawns & Crab, Blackened Rack of Lamb with Succotash & Grits, Beans, Corn, Peppers & Parmesan with Goats Curd & Crispy Sundried Tomato Polenta Cake. A Warm Fruit Bread Pudding with Rum Sauce finished the meal with a delicious Tokay.
